Hello and welcome. We are Brenda and Nigel Holmes and we personally run this site.

We live in the delightful little coastal village of Mundesley at the top end of Norfolk, in the UK. If you find a noisy couple of chatterboxes in the village greengrocers or the butchers, then it will probably be us.

Although not originally from Norfolk, we have been here for so long now that it seems like we have never lived anywhere else.

Our village is full of quaint flint stone buildings and picturesque streets. In the centre of Mundesley is the old Post Office which you can see in the photograph by Nigel.

We love it here in the Summer because of the sandy beaches and the place is buzzing with visitors. Mind you, it can look quite stunning in the winter when the local shops are lit up for the festive season and the locals are trudging about wrapped up so you hardly know who is who.

The cards that you see on the site are totally our own work and even all the web design, layout and background programming is done between us. This may not be the slickest of web sites, but we hope you like what you see and will enjoy sending these very personal cards. And certainly if you ever need to contact us then it will be ourselves who will help you and put things right.

Brenda has the secretarial background and has become a total whiz with databases and knowing who is who plus where everything is. Nigel can never find a thing. Brenda runs the inner workings of the site and the database therein, and with a memory for detail, it will be Brenda who knows who you are and probably even remember your children's names, when your birthday is and where you went on holiday. Nigel will not have a clue.

The art side comes from Nigel. He had an early start in graphic design, followed by a long career in photography. Both of which are useful when it comes to this site. It is Nigel who thinks "Outside the box" and some of the cards with an odd twist will have been his ideas. We think his brain is fast going down the line of the "Nutty Professor" who can do logical or artistic things, but forgets where he left his car keys.

We have been making personalised cards for ourselves for years. As far back as 1989 we were sending out individual cards from our small business.

As you can see, Nigel's cartoon for Christmas 1989 involve him with a group of rather over endowed ladies (left) which popped out of his imagination.

In 2006 Brenda joined the Christmas cartoon (right) in a jolly party version. A slightly stylised image of the two of us. Nigel with hair, and Brenda with a chest that defied gravity.

It is these cartoon skills that you will see in some of the cards that we have designed for Norfolk Mouse. Moving versions of ideas that have come from a myriad of places.

In 2007 Nigel used the "Girl and Mistletoe" idea again where his photographic and retouching skills worked their magic yet again.

Up until now all these cards were received only by close friends and business associates. But now we are using our joint skills to create Electronic Cards that can be sent and shared by everyone.

Why Norfolk Mouse?

When we wanted to find a name for the site we started to think about where we lived and what we do. So the "Norfolk" part came from where we are based.

The "Mouse" bit is simply based on the fact that we both use computers and the mouse is how those computers are controlled.

NorfolkMouse.com doesn't really mean anything other than that. But what we hope is that you will remember the name and come back and see us soon.
